I apologizes if this has been answered in detail somewhere else on the forums. I wasn’t able to find any solid answers. I am a 3d printer newb. I do have a Bambu p1s in my shop, along with this k2 plus. I haven’t really done much with the Bambu myself, my other guys at my shop use it more. I purchased this K2 plus to use as a production machine printing mainly ABS due to the high heat tolerance needed for the parts we build. I’ve had the K2 for about a week and since starting to use ABS I’ve had z axis issues CZ2786 daily. First started off with clogging in the nozzle but I realized that may have been due to my speed and temp settings. Once that got fixed, I haven’t had any clogging issues ( unless the z axis is thrown off and the nozzle starts scraping the bed. I started off having the z axis issues mind print, nozzle would clog but printer will still act like its printing but no filament extrusion. I ran the 4 calibration options that are selectable on the touch screen. Cleaned out the clogs and the next print printed fine. Second print won’t start due to z axis issues CZ2786. Now that seems to be the continuing pattern. I can print 1-2, 3 hour long prints then the next print will give me the same errors. What I’ve resorted to doing is powering off the printer, blowing out the 2 sensors at the bottom of the printer, wiping down the 2 cameras, Then powering back up, running the auto leveling calibration from the touch screen. If it passes, then I can usually print another 1-2 3 hour long prints before getting z axis errors. I am also selecting the print calibration on the slicer before clicking start print. I don’t have any bed adhesion issues, prints stay down nice and tight. I am using a thin layer of the glue stick just as a precaution. I do notice that after a few prints, the glass windows on the printer get fairly foggy from the gassing of the abs. I was thinking that it may be fogging up the cameras and possibly causing issues? I do have the AI camera settings turned off. All of the fans are set to 0 to keep heat in the chamber at 50c. Nozzle temp is at 270, bed temp 110. I’m using creality hyper abs on the side spool. I’ve also had a very intermittent camera, only works about 10% of the time.
Any help on what I may be doing wrong or what other calibrations or settings to try would be greatly appreciated.
