K2 printer breaking its filament in the tube

When using the K2 printer with the CFS the printer will feed the filament to the extruder and start to print. Then it appears that the extruder is not fed anymore filament leading to the extruder pulling the filament until it breaks. The error given by the printer shows that there may be an extruder error after manually purging the nozzle as recommended by the creality website I tried print again to no avail. At one point it also stated there was an issue with the buffer but after disassembling the buffer and reassembling it this error never came back. I am able to print from the spool so i am led to believe it is a connectivity issue between the printer and cfs. please help me

Is it PLA? That needs really good drying as it snaps when it is damp.

yes, but I had the filament in the Creality Space Pi Filament Dryer Plus prior to printing so I thought that would get rid of that issue. could that still be the problem?
