My K2 PRO after 300 hours of printing has suddenly stooped working with the CFS, filament loads, reaches the print head extruder and it gets “stuck” there the extruder turns just a 1/4 of turn and stops, the nozzle temperature starts raising up to 300C and the printer does nothing at all…… The nozzle is clean, there is no filament blocking the extruder, the filament led indicator turns on but the printer does nothing at all, all the menus are unresponsive like the printer is waiting for something that never happens…,
The only thing I can do is emergency stop the printer using fluidd web interface. After the restart I can do a retraction with no issue. If I load the filament manually the printer works. I did a firmware downgrade to V1.1.0.94.img and a factory reset but it did not help. I have even replaced the extruder by a spare one, but no luck at all.
Hello @cat68
Welcome to the Creality Forum…!
I don’t know if this would be the problem in your case but I’ve read where others have had to replace the PTFE tubing under the CFS as it was cracked or worn out.
I can print using the spool holder ONLY if I load the filament manually, if I try the menu function extrude then it fails, I need to load the filament manually then using fluidd web interface to extrude a few milimeters of filament to make sure the nozzle is primed. The problem is not mechanically the CFS itself as it can load and unload but I suspect it is a software issue as the printer stays idle after loading the filament without extruding when you press the extrude button on the screen. It also sets the temperature to 300C no matter which kind of filament you use, and if I’m using PLA the results can be very nasty as it can get carbonized inside the nozzle.
I found that operating the machine from the Klipper interface seems to get things out of wack at times and operating the machine from its own interface is a lot safer. This has been the case with my Hi machine and also my K2 pro. Sticking with Creality print and the creality interface has been a lot less stressful for me.
Don’t know if that’s any help in your situation but just saying.
