K2 Pro HotEnd

Hello everybody!

I need a new hot end for my K2 Pro.

Is it the same used in the K2 Plus?

Thanks in advance.

I think so, vendor told me its was mainly just heater wattage size but I still got K2 Pro version as they had it in stock and its was same price anyways.

Thank you for the answer!

Well, I am actually a beginner in 3D printing, so forgive me if my terms are not the most appropriate…

OK, I’ve acquired the K2 Plus hot end and this is my experience till now:

The dimensions are the same as we would expect. The K2 plus kit comes with 4 short screws, although the K2 Pro uses 2 short and other 2 longer ones. I’ve used the original screws from my printer. The fitting is perfect including the electrical conections.

Regarding printing there is a very strange situation… during flushing, when the wheels of the extruder stop spining, the melted material continues to drop from the nozzle for a few seconds. Even when the print head leaves the flushing zone and moves to start printing it is still droping material which is obviously problematic.

I also note a lot more spider web effect than before, and the detail in some printed characters is not good. I’ve only used PETG with this new hot end. The usual temperature was 240-250ºC and I’ve already reduced it to 220ºC. Is better now, but not good yet. And the over droping is still ocurring. I will test with even lower temp…

Maybe this hotend is much more powerfull than the K2 Pro one.

I’ve read that using Retraction can help reduce the spider web effect and eventually the over droping. Any ideas about configuration parameters?

Thanks again.

Ah could be, I did get K2 Pro version, so that could be case with different mounting hardware.

Maybe there is slight different thermistor type perhaps as well as heater wattage, maybe try doing temperature tower and see if notice its requires less temperature or higher for that material.

HI again. I confirm that the thermistor cable of the original K2 Pro is labeled 320ºC while the cable of the new hot end regarding K2 Plus mentions 350.

Regarding heating power, the K2 Pro says 70W. There is no label in the K2 Plus heater cables.

So the printer was eventually “feeling” a lower temperature and overheating the nozzle…

The nozzle in the original hot end seemed to be partially obstructed, and that was the cause of my initial problem. I´ve exchanged the nozzles on the hot ends, so now I am using the nozzle of the K2 Plus on the hot end of the K2 Pro. And it seems to be OK now, printing at the usual temperatures.

Anyway, I must say that, as a few users have already comented, I don´t understand why we still can´t find all the spares regarding the K2 Pro in the Creality stores…
