Hi guys. Does anyone know why my nozzle is building up filament instead of putting it down? I’ve glued the buildplate but still it keeps doing this when I use Creality PETG. I’m brand new to 3D printing, so please speak in dumbed-down Laymen’s terms.

I used the Creality presets as I was using Creality filament. I did try switching to PLA and got the same result. The Presets were 220 Degrees C and 60 C respectively. I knew/know next to nothing about the art YET, but initially watched videos and everyone raved about PETG so I bought a few rolls. I have since learned from my inexperience and will not be ordering any other filament until I gain experience.

it can be a couple of things. First a couple of questions. What brand of filament? Have you cleaned the bed down with 90%+ Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA). Have you ran a calibration? the 3 main issues that cause the blob are incorrect z offset/bed leveling, contaminated build plate, incorrect bed/nozzle temps. you need all three to make a good print. your missing one or two of them. if you have cleaned and leveled the bed. then its temp related. check the temperatures on the roll of filament. you can increaase the temp by 5/10 degrees

Thank you! I do clean the bed with 91% IPA every time and I coat the surface area with a gluestick right before each print, the issue started during the calibration, after resetting the z offset through Fluidd. I was using Creality’s RFID blue PLA and Soleyin PETG that I ordered from Creality. I operated under the assumption that Creality would have the correct preset temps for their own product on their own machine. I am quickly learning that very few things are correct.
I would rerun the automatic calibration, let the printer pick the z offset. I also would heat the bed and nozzle for 10minutes before running it. bed 60ish, nozzle 200/220. if your using creality filament you should be fine, its when you mix brands you need to play with the heat
