Laser engraving shifts 1–2 cm down from LightBurn preview

Hi, I’m using a Creality Falcon 2 Pro S with LightBurn.

The design looks perfectly aligned in the preview, but when I use “Frame” or start engraving, the laser is always about 1–2 cm lower on the Y-axis.

I already:

  • Set the origin to bottom-left
  • Tried setting origin manually
  • Checked workspace vs machine origin
  • Framing shows the same offset

Everything looks correct in LightBurn, but the machine engraves lower than expected.

What could be causing this? How can I fix the Y-axis offset?

Relative to what? To a camera alignment or where you thing you moved the laser by hand?

The machine is brand new. I’m comparing it to the camera alignment — the preview overlay looks perfectly positioned, but the engraving consistently shifts about 1–2 cm down or up on the Y-axis.

So you have finished the camera calibration process?
Have you adjusted for the height of the material? Because the camera sees it at a different spot than it was calibrated at if it’s closer to it because of the parallax effect, have you entered that Z-value to compensate for that?
