Hello, first of all, my English isn’t very good. I bought a SparkX model a few weeks ago, and while it initially printed without any problems, after the latest update, although the print quality hasn’t changed, the print start time is very long and it constantly goes into a calibration cycle. While it used to handle this in 1-2 minutes in the first few days, nowadays it takes almost half an hour to start printing. How can I solve this?
The easy way to see if the update is causing your issues. Is to do a factor reset. On the home screen select settings, then scroll down to factory reset, its on the second page. This will bring you back to the firmware you bought the printer with. Once you reset it run your model and calibration and see if that fixes the issues. Please let me know how you make out.
Frankly, I did the reset, I think my mistake here was to reinstall it directly without reading the update that appeared after the reset, so even if I reset it, I think I should not have done the mandatory update, I think I will try again, I will continue the reset without installing it this time, and I think this problem happens when I activate the 3 settings in the artificial intelligence settings section, although I don’t know how much it has to do with it, this problem occurs, but when I turn off the 3 settings, it works normally. Could it be a problem?
Sounds good, do the reset without the update and turn off the auto updates. I have my updates to manual. I don’t do the updates for a week or so after they are released, let everyone else figure out the bugs.
I did everything, I uninstalled the last update and went back to the previous one, I turned off all artificial intelligence features, I calibrate, I always get a cross like this in this leveling setting part of the 3-stage calibration, there is no problem with my prints or the printer, or I don’t see this as an error on the message screen, but is it normal for this to always be crossed since the first day? Is there a screw etc I need to tighten?
The red X during the auto-leveling phase does not mean your printer is broken. It means the sensor detected a value that it flagged as “out of range” or “failed to verify.” It is not a actually a problem.
Since your first layer is consistent and the prints adhere, the “red X” is just a UI artifact. Many users ignore it because the printer’s mesh compensation (which actually adjusts the print height) is still active in the background, even if the calibration screen displays an error. However if you want to get rid of the red x, try the steps below
-
Common False Positives:
-
Build Plate Debris: Any microscopic piece of plastic or dust on the underside of your build plate or the magnetic bed will trigger a false leveling error.
-
Nozzle Condition: If the nozzle tip isn’t perfectly clean, the strain gauge (which measures the force of the nozzle hitting the bed) might get a “mushy” reading, leading to an error.
-
How to Resolve the “Persistent” Red X
-
Hard Power Cycle: After you run a calibration and get the X, turn the printer off via the physical switch on the back. Wait 30 seconds, then power it back on. This forces the printer to clear the volatile memory (RAM) and re-initialize its status registers.
-
The “Ghost” Build Plate Fix: Remove your build plate entirely. Use a flashlight to inspect the black heating bed underneath. If there are any tiny flakes of filament or “blobs” of plastic stuck there, the sensor will hit them and flag a failure. Scrape the surface clean.
-
Perform a Factory Reset (Again): Try it one more time without connecting to the internet (or ensure your Wi-Fi is disabled) so the printer doesn’t try to pull an automatic update. Run the calibration before setting up the network.
-
Check the “Z-Hop” and Probe Settings: If you have access to the hidden or advanced settings in your current firmware version, look for anything related to the “Z-offset” or “Probe.” Sometimes, setting the Z-offset manually (as discussed earlier) overrides the “fail” state that the auto-leveling system is stuck in.
Hope this helps

Thank you very much, I will try them all, I am grateful for your help.
