Latest firmware for my Ender 3 V3 SE printer

I just got my printer and it is running V1.0.6.

I see that Creality lists an upgrade
Ender-3 V3 SE_HWCR4NS200320C13_SWV1.0.6_GD303.zip dated 10/25/23.
Does the SWV1.0.6 refer to my current firmware version?
I tried loading the .bin file and nothing happens.

Hello @Knute97
Welcome to the Creality Forum…! Creality-Logo

I would highly recommend in light of the many firmware and update problems that you read what is included in these updates before installing on your printer especially if it’s performing without any issues.

Basically don’t install any firmware updates if your printer is running fine…

Mine is BROKE! I am unable to move the axis, especially Z with the control pad. have had machine few months, never has worked but was runningOK. Recently had to change part fan after wires broke at connector after blockage. Think I then messed up z settings. any advice gratefully recieved as trying to get fan with correct plug connector has taken months. (received)

Hello petmanalex,

Can you explain what you mean there ?

Cheers.

When I first bought this printer it worked straight out of box and I did not need to use manual(control pad) controls for moving axis. I then experienced a nozzle block and in the course of clearing it managed to pull the wires for the part cooling fan out of the connector. Found trying to obtain replacement fan with correct sized connector a farce. Eventually found one but like original wires very tight on size so I inserted extra length. In the course of all this messing around I believe I have upset the Z offset as when attempting to print am getting bad build up on nozzle. When trying to lift the print head using the control pad I discovered that non of the axis could be controlled and thinking back I believe that to be the case since day one.

I therefore decided to update the control pad software an turned to YouTube. A very good video on doing this proved to be out of date as the creality cloud area referenced has changed. Also I am not clear if I can just update the control firmware on the pad without touching the mainboard. Anybody who could advise me with these problems gratefully listened to.

PS The Home command works fine.
