The Android app is already updated. You only need to rewrite the old rfid then everything works again. The change that the have its encrypted now on reddit the maker says he have fixed it in a couple of minutes.

Hello Franji,

As I am not an owner of a K2 and therefore don’t know about the update you are mentioning, could you give me a bit of detail about what you mentioned so as I can get a better picture of what this means.

If it means Creality will dictate what filament you can and can not use in your Creality printer, then BE ASSURED I will no longer buy their filament.

Cheers.

Not necessarily since even the majority of Creality filaments still do not use the label for the CFS, but it had to be done manually…

Thank you very much, I will do it, although it is thanks to the developer and not Creality, even so, I will not buy their filament since it is much more expensive than the one I use, it is more for trying to monopolize that unimportant CFS feature than for having to insert each filament manually…

I think the make it open source sometime. Its indeed also a way to lock the cfs in the future but then you can better buy a bambu and i think creality knows that. New people that start printing wil buy in the beginning there fillaments by creality for the rfid. After some time the wil find other fillaments that are cheaper. 5 years ago i also buy fillaments more then 20 euro. Now i wait for discount elegoo was with the holiday really cheap and i had a discount code that worked also so i paid 9 euro per rol. Yesterday i buy sunlu and had a 20% voucher so i paid around 12 euro per rol.

The RFID tags are just for the CFS auto-detecting the filament type (and I think track amount of material used in that reel).

So, can this quote be explained for me please ?

I pretty much only buy Sunlu, got a nice deal the other day 5x 1kg rolls for £50 which is almost half price. The RFID thing would prevent me from using those?

What do you mean by confirmed? I’ve got the latest K2 update and have used RFID tags made by the RFID app for CFS and also used non-RFID spools… I’m printing right now with a non-creality RFID that was read into Creality Print 6.0

Hello mcjamez,

Thank you for confirming this :+1:

Looks like I might buy their filament a bit longer :joy:

Cheers.

Are you saying you can make your own RFID tags? How so?

You don’t need RFID at all to use the CFS, so even if the CFS no longer supported non-Creality RFID, you can still use other brand filaments, you just have to set the filament type and color manually.

Hello @Bonfireman ,

That is a GOOD price, I just ordered a roll of white Sunlu PLA+ v2 and it cost me AU$31.50 via ebay.
Amazon don’t seem to have it here.

Like to see how good it is.

Cheers.

PLA+ V2.0 in black, but I think they did a colours set for same price. £50 is all but 100AUD so that’s 20AUD a roll, not looked on Aliexpress So far I have had to dial back the flowrate to about 85%.

Hi @Bonfireman .

That is interesting to know.

Cheers.
