Latest update has messed up mu K2 plus and wifi will no longer work

I have been having nothing but problems since the latest update and my wireless connection fails connection at every attempt along with failing to connect to my phone hot spot. Does anyone have a way to fix this or how to get ahold of a tech support person by phone???

Welcome to the community, where hobbyists help hobbyists clean up after Creality.

The fix - USB firmware download and rollback

Creality actually documents firmware rollback as an official procedure, so reverting to a previous version is not some unsupported community hack. Their K2 Series & CFS Firmware Upgrade Guide includes a section specifically covering “Using a USB Flash Drive to Upgrade/Roll Back Versions.” If the latest firmware has created problems that did not exist before the update, you can download the appropriate previous firmware version, place it on a USB drive, and use Creality’s documented rollback procedure to restore the printer to the earlier version.

My rant

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. You bought a printer, not an unpaid position in Creality’s firmware-testing department. Expecting an official update not to break a working machine is hardly an unreasonable demand.

This is not a case of you needing to lower your expectations. It is a case of Creality needing to meet them.

In my experience, the practical help here comes overwhelmingly from fellow owners. Open a support ticket and keep a written record, but I would not count on a Creality representative appearing in this thread to take ownership of the problem. The volunteers here deserve credit; they should not have to substitute for the manufacturer’s testing and technical support.

As for the K2 “Flagship” label, that should describe the standard of testing and support, not just the marketing. When customers are trying to undo an official update to get their printers working again, the gap between the sales pitch and the ownership experience becomes difficult to ignore. Whatever Creality wants to launch next, the customers who already paid still deserve working firmware and meaningful support.

Future updates - Best Practices

My advice is to stop treating “newer” as synonymous with “better.” If your printer is working properly, leave it on that version unless the release notes identify a fix or feature you actually need, or an important security or safety correction. Turn off update notifications if they are simply encouraging unnecessary changes, and check release notes deliberately instead.

Before installing anything, wait for credible feedback from owners using the same model and configuration. Waiting one release is not a guarantee; evidence of stability matters more than the version number.

And to be clear, none of this makes your decision to install an official update foolish. The responsibility for adequately testing that update belongs to the company releasing it, not the customer trusting it.

You should be spending your time printing, not repairing the consequences of Creality’s update.
