I just purchased the Creality Falcon 2 Pro 22W, and attempting to set up in Lightburn. My laptop recognizes the camera, and I can see the camera view of the engraver base on my laptop. In Lightburn, the camera is showing in the dropdown menu, but there is no Camera Preview when I go to Laser Tools - Camera Calibration. The program won’t let me continue on that tab without the camera preview, I’m guessing, because "Next’ is greyed out, and my only option is “Cancel”.
I’ve tried working with Creality on the issue, but customer service is ridiculous. I’ve sent them 3 emails (only way of communication, it seems), with detailed information and photos, but I just keep getting emails back asking questions like “Does laptop recognize camera?” (told them so 3 times and with photos of what laptop “sees”), and is USB cord to camera and laptop connected properly? (really? pay attention.).
Any suggestions of what I can try will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
Creality was no help, nor Lightburn, so I paid a Computer Tech to come to my house to see if he could figure out the problem. I was fully prepared to pack the engraver up and send it back. He messed around with it for about 45 minutes, so I didn’t feel like a complete idiot. He did internet searches using all kinds of keywords. He finally stumbled on something completely by accident. The poster wasn’t asking about camera problems, but for some reason had posted a picture of his Lightburn screen on the internet. My tech noticed something that was on his Lightburn screen that wasn’t on mine. I don’t have my laptop with me now, so I can’t tell you what it was for certain, but will respond again this evening. I remember, though, that on the righthand side of the screen, something was set to cuts and layers, and it needed to be set to one of the other options. Once he changed that, the camera view opened up in Lightburn. There was no mention of this anywhere in Creality or Lightburn instructions that we could find.
I paid a computer technician to try to figure out what the problem is. He poked around for about 45 minutes (so I didn’t feel so dumb), and ran across something completely by accident. I don’t remember exactly what he did, but on the righthand side of the Lightburn screen, there is a tab that says cuts/layers. I believe he changed the tab to “console”, and then the camera view showed up on the screen. That was a helpful thing to know.
