I currently own an ender 3 v3 ke and I would say overall I’ve been unhappy with it. I’ve struggled to get a good first layer for as long as I can remember owning it and creality’s support I’ve found to be very unhelpful.
I’m looking for a new printer (one with multi color printing) and as much as I hate their Apple approach to things, I was leaning towards getting the bambu x2d. I’ve been hoping it would go on sale but it hasn’t yet and now I see the k2 and k2 pro are on sale so I’m contemplating one of them instead.
I don’t have time to troubleshoot or mess around with the printer every time I use it, that’s why I was leaning towards a bambu printer as everything I’ve read says they are generally the best for “just working”. My ender 3 is “old” compared to the k2s so I’m wondering if creality has improved their printers to warrant me purchasing one? What should I expect from a k2 or k2 pro? Do they “just work” as well or is there going to be a bunch or tinkering to get it to work correctly?
Thanks to anyone who takes time to share their experiences
I have a K2 my first printer. over 2000hrs on it no major issues. But I have errors but I think they are normal 3d printing errors with filament. the k2 is very cheap now. If your ok with a 260^3 build volume and dont print engineering materials its a great bang for the buck, if you need 300^3 + and heat chamber then the pro is great also cheapier now. Or you could wait until the K3 index heads comes out, then the K2 will probably drop again in price
I have had a k2 combo for about 6 months now. I had only one issue which was my fault not the printers.
I had 5 creality printes over the years from the original Ender 3 , ender S1 Pro and a K1c , the K2 is the best of them all. The printers is use most days - over 600 hours of printing so fare.
K2 Plus here. I’ve got a little over 2000 Hrs on mine. I’d say it has a 99% up time. That still leaves roughly 20 hours of “fix it” time. All the fixes were easy enough once I figured out what to fix. Creality support is still marginally useful. They try, but by the time I get a reply, I’ve already tried all their suggestions. IMHO, they do “just work” (at least minde did), but you’ll have to do a little tweaking to get that perfect first layer (and maybe invest in a different hot bed plate, the stock plate isnt’ as even as some of the 3rd party hot-bed plates)
K2pro combo owner. Had a Ender3 S1 pro before also not much problems.
The K2pro is now almost 6weeks at my place printed over 200hrs with different materials mostly in very long prints. Had no errors or anything like weird stuff going on.
The only problem I had was my own stupidity by loading the wrong filament type at the wrong spot in the CFS.
I upgraded from my ender 3 v3 SE to a K2 Combo and I have been extremely happy with it. Using a textured plate and heating the bed to 60 degrees, I have not had any bed adhesion issues with the K2. With my Ender 3, bed adhesion was often a problem. In the last 5 months, have only a couple of failed prints. Love the auto leveling and ability to watch a print job on my phone.
