Hi everyone,
I also shared this issue on reddit but no one responded.
here is the video of sound: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/nO5GeBUVZD0
I’ve been having an issue with my K1 Max 3D printer. Whenever I start a print, the Z axis makes a very loud noise while moving up during the initial homing process. However, after this initial movement, when the Z axis moves up and down for leveling or printing, there’s no noise at all—it works perfectly fine.
I’ve already checked a few things, but I’m not sure what else might be causing this. Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- Lubricating the Z-axis lead screws and rails – I cleaned and added PTFE lubricant.
- Inspecting the lead screw alignment – Everything seems to be aligned properly.
- Checking firmware settings – I suspect the Z-axis movement speed during startup might be too high, but I’m not entirely sure.
- Tightening bearings and mounts – These don’t appear to be loose or overtightened.
Could this be related to the motor current, acceleration settings, or something else? Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
