Maintenance on the K2 Series printers (and others)

I recommend everybody to perform frequent maintenance on your printers, they will last longer and the printing results will be perfect.

Apart from the normal maintenance you see in the video, I also recommend everybody to lubricate all the rollers on the printer frequently.

Creality only recommends using WD-40 Specialist Silicone spray.

I’ve always been a fan of WD-40, but I never tried the “WD-40 Specialist Silicone spray”. This stuff is amazing, and it doesn’t smell as bad as regular WD-40. I’m finding all kinds of uses for this stuff around the shop (and sliding glass doors).

Good thing I already knew this as I work on robots with stepper motors, linear guide bearing and leadscrews that we perform annual PM’s which includes greasing, belt tension checks/adjustments etc. When I saw my Ender V3 KE for the first time I thought I was looking at some of the equipment at work. I use the grease and techniques we use at work. It’s kept some of our machines working for 25+ years now.
