So after a good year of printing, my K1 Max has finally thrown something at me that I truly am hopeless
with figuring out. The quality of prints has now dropped, making huge gaps and breaks between layers.
I have not changed my settings or slicer at all. I use Orca slicer with the following:
Sunlu PLA+
230 Nozzle
60 Bed
200 mm/s print speed
0.2 Layer height
I re-levelled and calibrated the bed but the problem still persists. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next?
Clean/lubricate the z leadscrews perhaps?
Thanks for the reply :).
I’ve given that a go, cleaning all of the screws and fixed rods with IPA and a rod sloth but unfortunately the problem still persists.
I’ll keep messing about with it though as I’m sure I’ll come across something at some point.
I am having the same exact issue. Its been a year. One day printing perfect and then suddenly printing poor quality. Hoping someone knows the solution to this issue
Update: I’ve solved the issue!
Turns out the case of the problem was the extruder gears, they were worn down meaning they occasionally grounded, causing under-extrusion.
All I did was order a new part and replace it.
I’ve attached a picture of the part that was replaced to help anyone out
