Melted filament stuck in Creality K1 max hotend

Hello all,

I’m facing a new problem with my K1 max.
I previously managed to fix the problem by myself, but like my print head I’m stuck.

I made a mistake while assembling new nozzle and didn’t tighten it enough with the hotend.
Resulting in melted filament leak.
Now, I want to disassemble the hotend.
I removed PCB and fans. I heated with airgun to remove most of melted PLA.
I removes screws on the face and on both sides of the heat sink but but the part does not give way.

Is there others screws to remove before pulling ?

Thank you for your replies.

Let us know how it goes…

Thank you very much Jimandyen !
That’s exactly my problem.
I removed 4 of the screws (front and sides), but I can’t remove one of the two in the bottom of the hotend.
So if I can’t remove this screw, I can’t remove the heatblock module ?
Thanks again for your reply.

Get someone to heat the screws with the heatgun while you try and unscrew it.

You should be able to remove the whole heat sink now. It might be a tight fit and just stuck in there. Those two screws at the bottom of the hotend don’t hold the heat sink in.

On those hotends the screws do hold https://youtu.be/MDY7RIp0ybk?t=277

You are right. They need to come out…

Thank you for your reply.
I finally managed to unscrew the last one.
I removed mist of pla while heating and the next day it came out easily.
I ordered a new hotend group.
Thanks again

Did you order the same hotend or the newer version with the quick swap unicorn nozzle

Hello Jeremy,

I didn’t notice that there was a new version.
In fact, I received the new version.
I hope I’ll be able to install it instead on my K1 max.
