I’m going to relocate the filliment roll above the machine. I need an extension cable for the runout sensor.
Anyone know where I can get one?
It’s getting moved to the top of the machine also, leaving it in the same place is not what’s happening.
Oh, I didn’t notice that it was just a 3 V3.
Those of us who have a V3 KE do the opposite, we remove it from the top due to the weight.
Look for an extension that can find on Aliexpress or do it yourself, you can… you can even cut the cables and lengthen them by joining more cable and then insulate it with tape or heat shrinkable tube.
Probably the first thing that I changed. I have run my V3SE once with the reel on top, just to see if it would run TPU that little bit better, it didn’t.
I suppose I could solder in some extra wire.
I’m going to have the reel on a separate stand. The way this printer thrashes around, I wouldn’t attach anymore weight to it apart from the light I ordered.
Having the reel above my Ender3 S1’s print head makes filament management trouble free.
Hello @Todd_R …!
Welcome to the Creality Forum…!
I ordered these off of Amazon and they fit. As you can see they are not available now but try a search for JST XH 2.54mm. You might find a kit with several types of connectors in it which will also work. Make sure it’s three connectors. You might have to do a little soldering and wire matching but the connectors fit.
Oh! JST?
I have those for my RC gear!
Should find those on Aliexpress easily enough.
Hi crealitys space filament dryer feeds the filament beautifully. Should be easy to rig up ie 3d print something that emulates the same path that the dryer gives.
I have a number of these filament dryers that I feed directly to my printers, albeit through a bit of Capricorn type tube to guide the filament, there are a number of filament feeds to print on Thingiverse. £20 a dryer (I paid £40 back in the day), been running them for over 2 years, not fallen over yet, toasty 55°C for 12 hours will dry anything.
Check out Th3d
Why do you want to move the runout sensor?
The best location for it is as close as possible to the filament entry.
I think he wants to run the filament from the top of the printer with the sensor up there also. I have mine the same way and it makes it easier to load…
The Ender-3 V3’s are more sturdy than earlier versions so the extra weight on top doesn’t affect it.
I don’t like the filament tangling as this machine homes and the comes back down.
Anyway,
I found a solution that I have ordered and is on the way.
I see, it’s because of the direct extruder.
Affix the filament sensor to the side rail, problem solved, and no extra weight added to gantry. there is a good solution on printables.
