My laser seems to have lost it's power?

I have the falcon 10w. I havent had it long so not real familiar with it. total newbie.
my laser isnt etching the silver medals I have. It etched the bronze colored ones just fine, but when I did the silver ones, it quit etching them all together. also doesn’t make the “laser sound” anymore. I put scotch tape over the medal and it will cut through it and appears to be etched, but will wipe off with a towel. is there a power setting other than the levels in lightburn that can be altered, how do I … I’m lost

A diode laser does not etch silver. It’s just the wrong wavelength. Try cutting some spare wood piece, if it cuts 3mm at 200mm/min and full power the laser is fine.
