NEW K1C PRINTER STOPPED EXTRUDING

NEW K1C PRINTER STOPPED EXTRUDING

This is what happened. The printer has been working fine. Then, on one small, simple print, I noticed it said it was done, but it had only printed half of the model. So, I checked the slicer, in case I had it set up to print only to a certain layer. No, it was fine and configured to do a complete print.

Then I reprinted the model, and the printer started, but with no extrusion.

So I verified there were no clogs and even changed the hot end nozzle.

In doing that, I noticed the drive gears were not functioning. No movement or noise.

Please, please help. How do I troubleshoot and get a new print head drive if necessary?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Scott
Only just joined the forum so jumping in at the deep end. Your problem sounds like my current one. No extrusion or movement from the extruder mechanism. Did the same checks as you with same results. Finally dismantled the extruder and found the gear that contacts the motor had 3 or 4 stripped teeth. Once the gap reached the motor gear everything stopped moving. I found a replacement on Amazon but coming from China. Still waiting for early August! This may be too late and you have already sorted it but may be of use to others.
Cheers
