New K2 has bent z-Axis screw and Creality service sucks.

I bought a new K2 from Creality and noticed that it was making an odd noise when the table moves up. Watched closely and the right z-axis lead screw is bent. It’s bent so much it finally broke the plastic holder at the top of the screw. Contacted service and was told they don’t offer it and to go to a hardware store to get the shaft. WTF? If this is how their warranty and service works I rather return it and buy another brand new. Has anyone else run into this problem with defects??

Welcome to the community, I guess.

I’m no defender of Creality. Their support history speaks for itself. That said, there are parts of this story that are either missing or don’t add up.

A bent Z-axis lead screw on a new machine is believable. A support response telling you to go to a hardware store for that shaft is the part I have a hard time accepting at face value. That is generally not something you just buy off the shelf at a hardware store. If that is what Creality actually told you, post a screenshot of the message so the community can see exactly what was said.

You also didn’t mention how long you have had the printer. If it is still inside the return window, I would stop troubleshooting it and start the return process. If Creality refuses to handle a clear warranty defect, then I would escalate through the payment method and notify Creality that they need to issue a prepaid RMA. This includes but not limited to immediately issuing a chargeback on your credit card and above all else, accepting nothing less than prepaid return freight where they pick up at your location. You have that right, leverage it.

Hello @PacManBanks
Welcome to the Creality Forum…! Creality-Logo

What @JoeFriday said and also get pictures and videos of that bent lead screw to send to Creality as I’m sure they will ask.

I think this was a confusion, they are probably talking about the little screws that hold the axis in position, those are usually m3 screws that you can indeed get anywhere, you need to clarify that it’s the axis itself that is bent and send a picture (I’m guessing they used translator and the meaning got lost)

Thanks for post in the damning evidence. You need to do a serious chargeback with extreme prejudice and include this correspondence with your chargeback. This is a very clear case of avoiding warranty. You even offered to perform the labor.

While I would agree that could be true in theory… I mean C’mon… no translation software is that bad and nobody is that stupid. I have to support the original poster on this. This is a very bad look for Creality.

The worst part is I sent a picture highlighting the axis and a video of the shaft wobble. I finally said to send me an RMA so I can return this and buy another brand and all of a sudden they changed their tune. Except they apologized and asked for the serial numbers but once I sent that I’ve had no response back.

I have the K2 which is now about 2 months old that has the issue and a new K2 Plus I bought and now I’m questioning if I should keep them or go ahead and get rid of them.

Well they apologized for the delay and finally responded wanting another closer up video of the shaft wobble. It’s so bad when the table is low that it broke the shaft guide at the top. Still requested a return deal and waiting again for a reply. My concern is I had bought a K2 Plus before this started also and I’m so pissed at Creality that I haven’t even used it in 2 weeks. Thinking seriously about sending it back too and go with another brand all together.
