No bed adhesion with PLA Ender 3 ke

Ive had an ender V3 KE for about a month now, and completed a couple decent sized projects, but now when I go to print, the filament just wont stay on the bed. It all clumps up on the extruder, Ive tried different filaments, prints, slicers, and extruders. Nothing works tho and I’m lost now. any ideas?

Wash the bed with dishsoap, dry it then wipe down with isopropyl alcohol is the first thing, a dirty bed will not stick. I wash mine weekly and wipe down with isopropyl every print. You may need to adjust the z-offset which is easy when you print with a wide skirt to adjust the z offset to get the right amount of squish into the bed, takes practice. As a backup gluestick is ok to use.

Everybody says it and many people don’t take any notice but I’ve learned that you really DO need to keep your build plate clean. I use my printer most days to print one thing or another. A couple of times a week, I’ll remove the build plate and wash it in warm, soapy water. It removes grease and oils in our skin that get on the build plate each time we touch it. On top of that, I give the plate a quick wipe over with IPA on a cloth before each new print. A bit over the top? I no longer have poor adhesion issues. Occasionally I use a Pritt stick or similar to help with adhesion but that’s very rarely.

I second that. :+1:

When I first started and before @Bonfireman mentioned using ISO I was using glue religiously and not really cleaning the plate very well. Of course the glue works but it wasn’t necessary and only builds up and gets messy.
Now before each print I wipe with ISO. I don’t use the dish soap unless there is some glue from printing PETG.

I want to find out what bed they provided with my Qidi machine. Super grippy and only needs a wipe with ISO. No need for glue even with PETG, it just release like PLA when cold on a PEI plate. Not had a print fall off the bed once in the couple of months I have had it, prints all day. Every day. I think it might be a HF plate but I thought they were black. This plate looks like any other gold PEI textured plate. If I can get a plate as good as that for all my Ender machines I would be very happy.

That’s interesting that PETG will release easily on that one. Let us know if you find out… Awhile back I ruined a plate trying to get a PETG model off before I learned the right way to do it…

Edit: Just looked at a Qidi build plate on Amazon and it mentions “HF” 360 x 250. Kind of high price I think…
What is “HF” compared to PEI…?

Doesn’t say much technically but 3DJake says:-
Easy and convenient to use, Qidi Tech’s HF permanent printing plate is a durable, scratch-resistant and robust 3D printing platform that has similar properties to traditional PEI platforms, but just a little bit better! It has a special coating that ensures excellent adhesion of the models without having to use glue to attach them. The models are very easy to remove from the plate after printing: the flexible plate simply has to be bent - the model will detach itself!

Qidi shop says some more information, its PEI with manganese

Thanks. :+1:

I’ll have to look and see if Creality offers HF to fit mine. (300 x 300 or 220 x 220)
