I am using Creality slicer 4.8 because it works, or was, on my M1 Macbook air. I am using this slicer on a Windows 10 PC because doing the update on my Mac made it Slicer 5.0. I have tried 5.* & 6.* but have found plate movement frustratingly inconsistant. I created a profile for ANYCUBIC PLA and after that where print profile is set up has said “not supported”. Now when I try and save a sliced model I get a “gcode file could not be saved in Creality format” message. Should I start using Cura (I don’t like all the access permissions it asks for) or I saw a couple of YouTube videos that said Orca is the best. Any advice appreciated. So far 4.8 has been adequate for my needs.
Hello Baddog1016,
I would simply go with Orca. It is what the Creality one came from anyway and not buggy.
I found the same with Cura and didn’t bother with it.
If you do go back to Creality Print for slicing, I would stick at version 5.1.6xx as it seems the most stable version.
Cheers.
Thanks, that’s what I will do.
