"Nozzle Cleaning In Progress"

My K1 Max takes about 5-10 min to start a print and stays on “Nozzle Cleaning In Progress” and does not appear to be doing anything. Is this normal and what is it doing exactly?

Hello @red732

Welcome to the Creality Forum Creality

It does take a few minutes to start up.

Nozzle Cleaning In Progress" is when the print head goes to the back of the build plate and tries to scrape off any filament sticking out of the nozzle..

It also does a “Homing” procedure where it figures out where it is on the X and Y axis.

Does it get past the start up screen and print…?

You can uncheck the calibration box on the printer screen to speed up things.

I just started experiencing this. I would send the print, it would do it’s calibration, then does the “Nozzle Cleaning in Progress”, then just sits there and never prints. I would have to power cycle the unit, then re-send the exact print, then it would print fine. This only started recently.

Mine just started doing this, but when I cycle off an back on mine doesn’t print.. can I ask did you find a fix for this or what’s wrong.. appreciate your help… Bill

It might be waiting for the nozzle to get to a certain temperature.

Check in the details where it shows the nozzle temperature, bed temperature and see what’s the goal their.

It is pretty normal if this happens it just waits so that it doesn’t hit that build plate with 220°c nozzle while homing.
