I have had issues lately with my nozzle just acting like there is no Z-offset. (screen dictates .160 offset) and the nozzle is scaping my models on practically every layer. I went and checked the firmware and on creality site states “V1.1.0.45” and my machine is saying “V1.1.0.47” did something happen within the firmware or was this .47 firmware corrupt?
Try turning off the “Reduce retraction in infill” option in the “Other” section of your slicer. I was printing a Hueforge image, and with that setting enabled, the nozzle scratched the whole layer.
The Z-axis only lifts during travel moves if a retraction happens. Without retraction, it just moves straight across the print, and scratching is pretty much guaranteed.
Also, make sure to calibrate your flow rate. If the flow isn’t calibrated and the printer over-extrudes, little ridges can form on the layer, and the nozzle can really dig into them.
Disabling that option helps reduce the scratching a bit.
