Only thing I hate about the E3V3Plus

So I have 4 and they are the backbone of my little print farm. BUT, there is 1 thing I really, really hate…

The way the extruder “drops into” the top of the print head. It’s always a struggle to get out and even harder to get back in. I end up pretty much taking apart the entire print head and still struggle to get it to “drop down” like Creality shows in their videos - it just NEVER EVER drops straight in. Right now, one is totally stuck half way in after I cleared a jam - it won’t come back out, won’t go back down, even after removing the pcb boards both front and back :frowning:

Creality, PLEASE don’t do this style print head again :stuck_out_tongue:

Okay, Rant out of my system - until I go back into my other print farm room and try to get it down again :frowning:

I’m wondering why it’s so hard to pull out. I have the Plus and never had that issue. Sorry. Are you talking about the extruder motor itself..?

I did notice in their video they had to try and drop it in twice to get it aligned right.. :face_with_monocle:

Extruder and motor. I can never get the thing out or back in. Maybe its a lack of physical strength, but I’m always afraid to push/pull too hard. I’ve been trying to get it back in for more than 30 minutes now. Gave up for a while.

I finally got it but I swear it’s going to make me curse one of these days (and I don’t do that normally!).

It should only take a light push. Are they all that way…?

What are you printing that keeps jamming…?

Haven’t had a jam in ages, but it happens now and then and happened yesterday. Definitely doesn’t take a light push for me. Tried to post a video, but it’s too big and it won’t let me.

If you record it on Utube and put the link here it should work…

Tried angling it, removed all the screws in the frame pcb boards so it’s all loose - just would NOT come out or go down. Have this same issue every time I have to remove the e3v3plus extruder. None of my other printers have this issue, its just the way too tight tollerances they have on the print head frame - there is not enough room to get the extruder in/out properly.
