Painting printed models

Hi all. How do we get a K1 category added?
But my question is, what kind of paint works well on PLA models? Are there kits available somewhere?

I use Acrylics on PLA, some people use primer, I’ve not needed it.

I’ve never had the need to do detailed finishing on my prints however I did need to do an overall coating on a prototype and Krylon textured spray paint worked very well with no problematic adhesion issues.
