Is this supposed to be able to stop any further printing of an item that has already failed? I had such a situation today - first layer on a coaster didn’t go down and I could see the extruder was going to go paddle in the poop and probably drag it all over the other four good ones…so I deleted the part on the “device” page…but it made no difference so I had to stop the whole print. At least it was only layer 2!
So is this only for “prior to printing” changes, or can it be used “live” and I just don’t know how?
It can be done live, in creality print and on the printer, but what I noticed that in order for it to work the printer can not be actively printing on the part you want to delete or stop printing on.
For example, you have 2 separate parts, a chair and a table. The chair you seen is going to fail from some reason. You have to wait for the printer to be printing on the table in order to successfully cancel the print on the chair. While the printer is working on the chair, you can hit cancel object until your blue in the face but it won’t because its actively working on that part.
To me this seems like a bug.
If you are wondering how to do it on the printer itself, on the home screen you will see an “X” in the top-left corner of the image that is currently being printed. In here you can select what object to cancel print on.
Thanks for the “X” hint on the printer, but I have to say Creality Print ignored my request to delete the one failed object even though it was printing the other four at the time.
Prior to the latest update, I have noticed alot of …oddities… with creality print 6, so what you said about CP ignoring your delete request doesn’t surprise me any. I have yet to update to the latest version that dropped today simply because I’m working on a large multi plate project and I want to get through it before updating, just in case of the update changes something and messes up what I already have tweaked to try to successfully finish this project.
I’m having a similar problem - the part exclude functionality doesn’t work on the printer LCD. I tried several times on a 2 part print without success. Using Firmware v1.1.2.6.
