Hi guys!
Just few days ago I bought my first 3D printer Ender 3 S1 Pro(I’m second owner). It has small wear and haven’t been at work a lot.
So the problem is that PLA keeps unsticking of plate. It’s an ultrabase plate. I just gently washed a plate with dish soap, but the issue still here. Should I try using stick glue before printing with PLA? What complicates this situation even more is that I noob at 3D printing therefore troubleshooting goes rough.
Some additional info. I leveled bed pretty well I guess coz delta height was about 0.3 mm. After I printed a test cube and Astronaut on the moon model with PETG, they were flawless.
Wish everybody a good day ^.^
I’ve been using Elmer’s purple stick glue. It’s working good so far even though I’ve got first layer with PLA dialed in. I run 210 nozzle temp and 62 bed temp for my first layer. Also slowed it down a bit, can’t remember what speed off the top of my head. Found those setting to work well with my KE’s first layer.
Hello !
Have you checked your Z-offset ?
Yes, I did. The very first thing I did was bed leveling. I started with a piece of paper and after started auto leveling. Results were pretty decent. After few failed attempts I found a post that says about leveling bed midprint. I lowered a bed 0,2 mm, result was better, it succesfully printed maybe 3 or 5 layers. But after I heard a crack, it was plastic unsticking, it ended up failed too.
Maybe I should lower a bit more? I also found possible solutions such as switching off a fan on a first layer and increasing nozzle temperature a little. What can you say about this methods?
I also lowered print speed of a first layer, but hadn’t tried a glue yet, to be honest I a bit concerned about using glue on ultrabase, maybe it’s irrational, please let me know if you have such experience. I used preset “Generic PLA“ in Cura and is sets nozzle temperature to 200 and bed to 60. But recently I found out that not all plastics print with same temperature, it actually depends from manufacturer. I checked my and it says nozzle 210-230, I think it worth trying to increase it to 210
I really didn’t want to use glue either. I don’t know why just me being me and thinking I shouldn’t have to. Once I did and got good results I use it whether I think I need it or not. My PLA settings are pretty dialed in now but I still use glue. I did print some shims for my print bed that needs some fine tuning before my liner rail upgrade kit comes in and I printed them without glue and they stuck just fine. That was my last print job a few days ago.
