can someone please help me
Hi,
You didn’t say if you’re using LightBurn or LaserGRBL, but either way engrave (burn) is usually one color and cut is defined as aanother color. It’s up to us to choose what to cut and what to burn and to set the power for each. Sounds like you’ve figured out both power settings, now think of it as adding one to the other - first engrave then run the cut code. For example… I lay out my engrave in blue, and my cut in red or black. The software knows I have two layers because I have two colors, and I can set the speed and power for each.
It’s nice to have many layers available because we can engrave a line one depth, forefront details in another depth and background in a deeper depth before I cut the profile. Many SVG files we use are pre-colored or we can get the files in LightBurn format from the artist. BTW…. I have the same laser, it’s a good machine.
I don’t use LaserGRBL other than to calibrate my axes…. it’s easier to adjust the machine codes in LaserGRBL (I think). Sorry I can’t tell you how LaserGRBL differentiates layers.
Hope this helps!
