Print data not showing up

I recently purchased the Ender 3 v3 KE printer, but I have an issue with the printer not reading the gcode print files correctly. Using the Creality Print app I selected my printer and started slicing STL files. When I put the sliced files in the printer, it shows up as having zero layers, needing zero minutes to complete, and needing zero filament. It says the same in the creality cloud app and the printer web app. I have printed successfully with these “zero layer” prints, but I cannot figure out how to fix the data. I have tried both LAN printing and USB flash drive printing. I also tried factory resetting the printer.

Which version of the Creality print app are you using? I have had more luck with the older 4.3.8 version, you can install it alongside the 5.1 version, they won’t interact but the other version may give the correct results. Are you making your own STL files or downloading them?

I am using the latest version of Creality Print. I have tried using STL files I downloaded and templates from Creality Print.

Try the older slicer and see how it fairs.

The time remaining eventually shows up on the nebula pad once I start printing, but it the app it continues to say x/0 layers.

Also, I believe it was working correctly before I updated the firmware.

So the slicer gives the right info but not the printer. I shall check this for myself on my V3KE in the morning (its 01:28 here in the UK)

The gcode I have transferred via USB and LAN (both sliced in Creality Print) have said zero minutes and zero filament usage, but the benchy on the flash drive that came with the printer appears to have the correct information. The two uploads with issues eventually started printing and showed the correct information on the home screen.

Did you ever fully solve why this is happening? Do you think that the gcode files are just taking longer to upload to the device and that’s why you aren’t getting any time or filament data? I just got our kids an Ender 3 V3 SE and the last couple models i’ve tried to print, once sliced in creality print, i put the sd card into the printer and it shows 0 time, 0 filament, but when i try to print one, it actually seems to be going through the motions of printing it, but it’s not putting out filament, so I canceled it.

My files displayed no filament usage but printed normally. I believe this was an issue with Creality print as my display functions normally now. Make sure your printer and slicer are both up to date.

If no filament is extruding your nozzle may not be hot enough.

Everything is the latest version and I’m not having an issue printing the included model. Just newly downloaded ones (even though I did one from Creality cloud yesterday without issue).

what about files from Printables or Thingiverse? Can you make your own files using CAD/Blender?
