Print parameters slicer verse CFS

If you slice a print with lets say Hyper Pla then send to print and in the CFS you have Polymaker Pla setup (all parameters flow, PA etc.) when the printer actually prints using the Polymaker Pla does it use the sliced or CFS parameters?

The TL;DR answer: The slicer definition should control the print settings, not the filament type shown for the CFS slot on the printer panel.

In simple terms:

The CFS slot tells the printer which filament to load.
The sliced G-code tells the printer which print settings to use.

That is also consistent with Creality’s Wiki.

I tested this more than six months ago, but there have been slicer and firmware updates since then, so it is worth testing again.

A simple way to verify this is:

  1. On the printer panel, set the CFS slot to a filament with a very different temperature. For example, if your sliced file uses PLA, set the CFS slot to PC.
  2. Do not re-sync the slicer with the printer.
  3. Slice and send the print as PLA.
  4. If the printer reports a mismatch, it may allow you to override it from the menu. Unless Creality has changed that override from the last time I tested.
  5. Once the print starts, check the nozzle temperature on the printer panel.

If the nozzle runs at the PLA temperature, then the slicer definition is controlling the print settings, not the filament type shown in the CFS slot.
