Print riser w/PLA..?

can I use PLA, or would temps of unit dictate PETG, or something else??

Mine seems to be stable for now, and it runs 14 to 18 hrs a day for the last 2 weeks. Printing only pla right now. Once project is completed im going to try some abs, and asa and will find out about the durability of the pla riser. Good luck

thanks

pretty much the path I’m on.

Was hoping someone had used PLA for riser and could advise one way or the other…

It depends on what you want to print in the future. If you only print PLA, it should be fine. For ABS you want a higher chamber temperature, PLA could be a problem. I’d go for at least PETG, printed mine in ABS.

I agree with that. I did so with mine for the Q1Pro.
If you have a suitable nozzle, try PETG CF. I print with that for most things now because I really like it.
It is a shame there is not a better colour selection for Carbon Fiber though.

Cheers.

I made four simple risers, one for each corner, from PLA, and they work fine. Here’s a photo, with the design inset. This one is 3/4" tall, but I’ve printed others at 1-1/2". The chamber temperature is about the same with both heights. I insert the pegs into the cover’s corner holes, then apply a small dollop of Amazing Goop adhesive to keep them in place when I remove the cover. The Goop can be easily peeled off if I want to remove the risers.
