Have had the V3 for several months and use it almost daily. Was printing today and two prints in a row ended up as a pile of filament. Started a third one after cleaning the print bed but print head powered itself into the right-side upright causing the belt to jump teeth. Tried the self-levelling option but it powered itself into the plate and bounced up and down as it traversed backwards leaving a scratch mark in the textured plate (and probably destroying the nozzle). Any other things I’ve tried cause it to crash into the upright and/or plow into the bed.
It just seems like the print head has lost its orientation and I don’t know how to get it back.
I’m 86 years old and I promise you I don’t ever tamper with settings.

This is a long shot, but have you checked the limit switch on the Z -axis, as suggested in the Creality Wiki, Start-Up Self-Test Nozzle Crashes Directly Into Build Platform | Creality Wiki
Found it!! There’s a very tiny plug at the base of the left upright and it had become disconnected! It really doesn’t lock very well and I must have dislodged it. I just finished printing a “benchy” to see if the nozzle was undamaged and it’s perfect. Can’t believe after all that pounding into the plate that it’s still OK.
Thanks for trying to help.
