hi everybody,
I’m new to the forum and I so far managed to find solution just web searching, however, I reach the point where I need more technical advice than just web search.
here is the problem
I want to print something and the differences in printing time between PETG and other materials is abyssal.
to print this poligon of 1x1x12cm in PLA and TPU takes 1h (ish) in PETG the same piece takes nearly 6h.
the piece need to be printed in that orientation
but the problem is that I do not understand what is that involve that big gap of printing time.
FACTS
the slicer process settings are all the same for both filaments
apart for some tweeking the only paramenter that could make the difference that I know is the max vol speed (understandibly) but if for esting purposes I crank it up it does not make any difference. PLA and TPU have very different printing speed but are faster than that PETG.
I do not use Creality Print software (because sucks), but Orca
my printer is out of the box (ender3 v3 KE).
thanks for your answers
Creality Print got some nice improvements with the new 7 version. It is a bit harsh to say “it sucks”…
Do note that ORCA is not sending all informations to the printer like CrealityPrint does…So it may not consider that you change the settings of the material
As for your question, it mostly depends of the max volumetric speed. PLA is generally at 15-16mm3/s..PETG is at 5-6mm3/s (classic version, not the Hyper Speed version)
hi Alex thanks for the reply.
I say it sucks and it is not harsh considering my experience: 5.0 to 5.1 he deleted all my settings and hours of work (should have been an update not a new program) 5.1 to 6 a complete disaster as I encountered a lot of problem when printing circular pieces with the seems and not even the old setting were able to fix them. on Orca I never had any problem, so yes it sucks
.
However going back on my question,
TPU have a MVS of 3.2 print time 3h 16min
PETG MVS 25 printing time 3h13min
PLA 26 printing time 2h 3min
it does not make sense. I attatch a screenshot of the slicer it may help
