Problem with leveling and print head not going down to bed

I have had my se for a long time and very happy with it. About a week ago the print head went halfway up the support arms and now thinks that is where the print bed is. I can’t get it to go down to the bed at all. I have tried the level selection and it comes up and says autoz offset in progress. and doesn’t show the representation of the print bed with all the little boxes on the screen like it used to. I have tried to manually set the autoz offset it used to be set to 10 but now is zero and i cannot change it. I have tried a couple prints to see if it would go down to the bed but nowhere close. No idea what has happened. Could the motherboard hiccuped? Thanks for any suggestions. The machine is stock I haven’t changed or added anything except the led light but did that a year ago. Also when attempting to print it goes from zero to 100% in 2 minutes and shows done and has not printed anything.

Hello RussBG,

When you say, " I haven’t changed or added anything except the led light", have you changed the firmware, or, Creality Print version ?

Cheers.

No I have not updated the firmware

I just updated the firmware. Now when I start up the printer it asks for language. I get a message that says make sure no foreign objects are on nozzle and heated print bed. Then I get a CR-Touch error. Please contact customer service. And it does nothing else.

I can’t help with the firmware update, but, your original problem (head too high) sounded like a Gcode issue.

i.e. Is it possible that the Gcode was corrupted in some way, and the machine was just doing what the Gcode told it to do???
