Purged filament building up in the chute

Hello, I am having problems with filament buulding up in the chute during prints. Its like it is sticking to the sides and building up to the nozzle, then getting hard and causing the head to hit it after an hour or so of printing. My print turds went from stingy swirls to large solid chunks that are getting stuck and building up. My last 5 prints have failed due to this. I have carefully sprayed a little lithium grease inside the chute and its still happening. Not sure what else to do. Please help…

Hey man, is it sticking to the stock chute or did you make a slide and it’s sticking to that? What filament type are you printing that sticks? Are you printing at high temps?

do a cold clean until no debris left on the nozzle.

I have noticed, that as much as the K2 Plus and the K2 Pro have in common, I think they learned a few things on the K2 Plus and implemented them on the K2 Pro.

I have the problem of the purging getting caught in the chute before it enters the long drop to the bin. But I don’t have that problem on the K2 Pro.

They made the chute wider on the K2 Pro. It is about 45mm on K2 Plus but almost 60mm on the K2 Pro.

I had a similar issue before, and in my case it was caused by residue buildup plus the chute surface getting a bit sticky over time. After cleaning the chute thoroughly and checking that the flap/lever moved freely, the purge filament started dropping normally again. It might also be worth checking purge volume settings, because oversized blobs can sometimes pile up instead of falling cleanly. Hope you get it sorted soon!

I wouldn’t use lithium grease at all. It’s sticky.. Clean it off thourghly it’s the last thing you want.

Use something like wd40 or other silicone spray. I had similar problems from the start until I did that.
