Hello everyone,
I’m trying to print a model using a 0.2 mm nozzle and have noticed a strange issue that’s ruining the print: random over-extrusion. This is my first time using a 0.2 mm nozzle, and I’m relying on Cura’s default settings for high-quality prints.
Due to poor adhesion between PLA and my PEI bed, I’m using a raft. On the third layer, I can see a long line of excess plastic being deposited. If I monitor the print and carefully
remove this over-extruded plastic in time, the print turns out fine. However, if I miss the moment, it creates a mess.
This issue didn’t occur when I was printing with PLA or PETG using a 0.4 mm nozzle, so I suspect the problem might lie in the slicing software settings.
I do believe that my bed is leveled.
Here are the Cura settings I adjusted:
- Wall Line Count: 3
- Printing Speed: 50 mm/s
- Number of Slower Layers: 3
- Fan Speed: 60%
- Initial Fan Speed: 0%
The PLA I’m using is Creality 3D Printer Filament, I purchased it from the Creality Store on Amazon.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this issue or what I might be overlooking?
Thanks in advance!
