Does anyone know of a way to remotely shutdown/power off a KE?
I could just use a smart plug if I knew that the OS would cleanly shutdown on a power loss. But it seems like the KE takes a fraction of a second longer to stop when I hit the rocker switch on side of the printer compared to when I use a smart plug to cut power, Could the switch be triggering a clean shutdown?
I thought about a software solution; I enabled SSH and can login as root. But the pared-down linux distro that comes with the KE doesn’t include the shutdown command.
Has anyone solved this problem?
I have an Ender 3 V3 CoreXZ and am wondering the same thing. I use Orca Slicer and send directly to the printer. However, for my old Ender 3 pro, I used a raspberry pi with OctoPi, and there was a plugin to control a TPLink smart plug. This could power my printer on before sending a print, and power off after 5 min of idle. With newer printers having wifi built in, how do they not have a way of shutting down? Probably because controller powers down with and there is no way to turn back on. In the mean time, I am just controlling the power with google home, but it is not as convenient. I wish that OrcaSlicer had a plugin for controlling a smart plug.
