Sd card adaptor on ender 3

I have a Micro SD to SD Card Extension Adapter Cable connected to my Ender3. If the printer is turned on and I insert a SD card, the printer won’t recognize it and says something like, No card found. In order to get the printer to recognize the card, I have to unplug, then replug the adapter cable in the micro SD slot. Then it recognizes the card and says, Card inserted.

If I turn off the printer, eject the SD card, copy a file onto it, then reinsert the card and turn on the printer, it recognizes the card without issue.

Does anybody know why this would be happening? Am I missing something here?

I wonder if it’s the way the card is formatted or the printer causing that. I had an older laptop that did that with certain cards.

Try different card or cable…??

Have you tried:

Different card
Different adapter

Of course one at at time.

its the same as using a usb adapter in your laptop. it can’t read the card unless you unplug and plug the adapter in.
