Second K2 plus first layer and bed leveling help

Hi all,

On my second K2 Plus now. My first K2 Plus retuned due to some quality concerns. On second unit seems like bed leveling from factory not ideal. Fairly new to the game and would like peoples input on how I can improve please.

Picture shows ABS first later first which looks horrendous if I’m perfectly honest. Bed leveling does not seems to be working at all if I look at how the nozzle is squashing the filament into the bed.

Have not touched the bed but this is what I am seeing when I look at mesh.

Unfortunately I have the same problem, I have filed a warranty claim, let’s see what happens.

There are 4 screws under the bed that can be used to pull the corners down or push them up.

Aside from that, the printer will try to ensure that the mid left and mid right sections are always at the same level. For example, if you pulled all the left side down, and pushed the right side up, the print level itself.
From a plate perspective, it would be level, looking at the plate holder instead (where it says 350x350) it would visibly have one side higher than the other.

You play with the screws a little to adjust and hit calibrate in the printer menu, no need to do the input shaper again.

Hopefully this will get you to printing. What the other post mentions is true for more people, unfortunately. Some of us with bad bed leveling have not been able to get a good clean first layer, second, or third layers, myself included.

Good luck! Please let us know if you get it fixed.

Will most certainly try. Thank you Sir.

Having the same issue, I checked with the ruler like you did, and could see the difference on the X axis with the high middle. I think this difference is large enough that it should get noted by the software and suggest a bed adjustment. I feel like the system itself should be able to notice something this out of whack. My Prusa would always catch issues like this and suggest adjustments, even if it could not do the adjustments automatically.

i have been having the same issue but rotating the corner screws only did so much. its very high in the middle and there is a bit of visual dipping on the sides. do you have any idea what i might be able to do?

thanks

hello! i am having the exact same problem and i was wondering how you fixed it? i have been fighting with it for a long time.

I have returned my printer since it never printed properly. Creality asked me to replace several parts but nothing worked.

There are several of these threads here. If this is your issue, search around here and you’ll find more threads.

The official stance is, several mm of bed deviation is “acceptable.” Support seems to replace the bed if asked, but all beds are like this, so a OEM replacement is little help. And the hotter the bed, the more it warps. Auto-leveling seems only partially effective on my printer, like the mesh is only 50% applied or something. Some have upgraded beds to graphite with good success. Bed should be pre-heated to target temperature for at least 15 minutes prior to auto-leveling for best results. Some have added layers of kapton tape under the build plate to “build up” the low spots, with success.
