Setting hotend using screen

Hi. I am having trouble with the settings control knob.

It is very erratic and for instance if I turn it to set the hotend it will jump all over from 210 to 40 then back to 260 ect.

Help please before I buy a new display.

Can you share a photo ?
In my opinion, it’s not due to the display but the hotend (and the thermistor to be precise)

I will try and video what happens. Is it possible that I need to reload firmware into the control/display unit?

So I am turning the knob slowly to the left but it is the same in either direction and get this erratic temperature display.
