Hi, can anyone help me? Why is this happening? I have the printer since 2 weeks and it worked fine with several prints and different filaments. Now it does this with almost any print. Starting ok, and somehow i hear a “strange” noise when moving on the X axis…after that it print completely shifted from the starting print…thabks for help!
HI, I am getting exactly the same thing - all was well (the printer is only a few months old) - I even changed slicer to OrcaSlicer and it seemed to be OK but then after a couple of prints reverted back to the layer shifting. If anyone has seen this before please can they reply with any suggestions?
And one other thing that is odd for me is that I can’t manually move the extruder. I have tried and I feel like I’m going to break something. In the end, I can’t move it manually and by the look of some of the posts that I have found, I should be able to move the extruder manually with no issues. So there is clearly something wrong that needs to be fixed.
I, too, have starting having this problem of layer shifting after about 1month of owning my K1C printer. I have checked the usual resources to find a solution and of course none of them have fixed my issue. I have checked my belt tension, the tension pulleys, and even ran the auto leveling/calibration test and nothing seems to be working. After a little more troubleshooting, I have figured out what the problem is but not sure how to fix it. I found that when my is not aligned anymore. When it gets to the front left corner it’s almost like the limit switches are not working cause it maxes out at that corner and when it starts a print and goes to that first initial test line from the extruder, this is when it makes that “strange” noise that I’m guessing SpeedyMik is referring to. That initial extruded line is now right on the edge of the print plate. If it went even i more MM to the left, that line would not be on the plate anymore. When I look at the rail (X-Axis) I noticed that the extruder going all the way to the left side, while it leaves about .5 - 1" space when going to the right side. This is how I know I have an alignment issue.
I hope that this additional information will help someone help us (assuming we are all having the same issues). Hopefully it is an easy fix. The only thing I have not checked just yet is seeing if there is a firmware upgrade. I will check this and report back.
OK. So I have solved my problem and I hope this helps or maybe points you both in the right direction. I’m not sure how this helped but I ended up swapping my nozzle. I don’t know if it was the turning off and on or if some how the nozzle was causing my alignment to me messed up. I also noticed in my slicer (Creality Print) that there was a pop up in the lower left corner letting me know that there were updates. I went ahead and installed all of the updates (including the ones for different model printers.
After doing all of this, I noticed that the alignment was no longer an issue. I will keep an eye on it as I move forward and let you know if it reverts back.
