Small wall print

Hello,

I would like to print this 6mm thick wall (K2 plus).
I would ideally like to place it vertically and
attach supports. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to do that.
Please show me an “optimal” solution.
The file is attached.

That looks a straightforward print… stand upright / vertical, brim with 0 gap for stability, use classic wall option, not arcane… increase wall count to 4 or higher, disable side fan in your profile (or manually turn off after print starts if not sure how)

6mm is actually quite thick, I print less than 1mm vertical walls without issues. So because it’s a thick wall you can also use inner/outer/inner print option (you only need 3 walls for that option) as there doesn’t look to need any bridging… that will give a smoother exterior.

How you make tall skinny prints work is by increasing the wall count, that way its doesn’t need to use sparse infill/patterns, which “can” knock over tall skinny prints…

With above settings you can print 300mm high 1mm walls..

Not near a computer to show settings, but search for those options.. & you should be able to print that easily on a k2+

Hello,

Thanks for the feedback…
I printed the wall last night at 65% of its original size.
With the “brim” and without any additional support, it worked really
smoothly. Photo is attached.
I can hardly imagine that it’s possible to print a 1mm
thick wall…?
These are still test prints for my project “Fuselage for BO105 Model Helicopter
in 1:4 scale.”
I haven’t had the Creality printer for very long; I started with a BamBu Lab.
But it’s too small for my project.

Inner/outer/inner & classic wall setting will get rid of that line at the join level, you will be able to get it perfectly smooth..

Also look at - research, variable layer height option in CR slicer… that will speed up the print without loosing quality.. (you can choose how smooth to even out the layer shifts)

But yes, once you get your filament user profile setup, and saved, you can print very good quality on the k2+’s

I print hollowed out objects like thermous with 1mm layer walls, with an air gap inside the walls, just like bought thermos.. on a 3mm wall.. once you get wall count Increased it works perfectly, even a setting called spiral vase setting to do a single layer continuous 1 wall object (no good for waterproof, but good for ultra thin continuous structures)
