Hello I’ve had a Falcon A1 with external air extraction and a honeycomb work surface for four weeks now. I’ve engraved and cut a lot of plywood. Since yesterday, the fumes aren’t being extracted properly and are escaping from the front of the machine while the laser is cutting the wood. I’ve cleaned the filter of the air assist pump and replaced the filter of the external extraction system. The problem persists. Does anyone have any solutions or has anyone experienced the same issue? I’m new to lasers and therefore don’t know much about them.
I am having the same issue, came here to see if anyone else has same problem or a solution. I have the A1 pro and can see the enclosure fills with a fair bit of smoke, the filter is definitely getting the majority of the smoke, but enough seeps out that it is uncomfortable and air is a bit hazy.. I found I have the problem with or without the honeycomb.
I’m curious how long between filter changes you can go. I exhaust out through a port in my side garage door and the amount of build up on my fan after one year of use was a lot. Can’t imagine how much went out the port that didn’t stick to the fan or the hose.
Exhausting to the outdoors in a way that does not get pulled back in to your home or other’s is best it seems.
Having the exact same problem with my Falcon A1. Using both the Creality honeycomb and the air purifier, but continually get smoke coming out the front. I will have to resort to putting the hose out of the window again, but currently the UK is enjoying very low temperatures so not ideal.
I have to try to find out why that happens but it seems that the fan motor can start turning the wrong direction if there is too much back pressure (just a guess). Starting the smoke purifier first maybe helps.
Hi Derek. I bought a Fume Extractor unit for my machine and it worked well - for a while. The filters got really tarred up after a month or so. So much so that I had to change them nearly weekly. In the end, I made a space for the machine and my old PC in my shed and vented the hose straight through the wall into the garden. Now it works brilliantly. I believe there is no better solution than outside venting. I am with you on the low temperatures in the UK. I have to keep a small heater in my shed to keep it above 5 degrees C.
