I completely agree with the OP.
For a so-called flagship printer, the K2 Plus firmware and user interface still feel half-baked. This is basic Human Machine Iinterface(HMI) design, and Creality still has not gotten it right. I consider it another rushed job.
If there is a Pause or Stop button on the screen, the printer should acknowledge the command immediately. That does not mean the machine has to instantly slam to a halt in the middle of every movement. A safe stop is fine. A controlled stop is fine. But the printer needs to tell the user that the command was received and explain what it is doing.
That is where Creality falls flat. You press Pause or Stop, and too often the machine gives little or no useful feedback. Sometimes pressing the button a second time is what finally gets a message. That is not good design. That is the machine leaving the user guessing whether the button press even registered.
A simple example:
- I start a print.
- I immediately realize something is wrong.
- I press Pause or Stop.
- The printer continues through its startup or purge routine anyway.
- On the K2 Plus, that can mean waiting almost five minutes while the user sits in the penalty box watching the printer ignore the command.
I have not seen this handled this poorly on other current printers.
If there is a valid reason, such as protecting the nozzle, avoiding a clog, or completing a safe movement, then put that on the screen. Show a clear state: command received, stopping safely, purging, aborting, paused, whatever applies. Do not just ignore the input and leave the operator wondering.
And if the nozzle is not even up to temperature, the filament is not loaded, or the print has not actually started, then there is no excuse. The printer should abort immediately.
The acid test is simple: if power cycling the machine is faster than waiting for Pause or Stop to take effect, Creality has a design flaw.
This is not an advanced feature request. This is basic machine control, and Creality should have fixed it before calling this a flagship printer.
