Speed setting stopped working.....kind of

Hi All,

My Ender S1 Pro has been going great the last few years. Recently i started getting heating issues on the bed. Turns out it was a loose wire that was not easily fixable so i replaced the bed.

I rest the machine to clear the mesh, relevelled it and got back to printing.

Weirdly now the spee control on the printer doesn’t work. If i set it lower than 100% it slows down, but anythign above 100% has no effect what so ever.

I am printing a bunch of the same thing at the moment so I am reusing the G code that worked perfectl fine before, in that i could ramp the speed up to 150 or 175% (equallying about 80mm/s - the base file was 45) and have it finsih quicker with no results in quality. Now it doesn’t do anything. I cna put it to 300% and it keeps chugging along as if i have done nothing.

Totally stumped as to what is going on. Is there some other bit in the firmware throttling it? I even tried reslicing a file with higher print speed settings and it still takes as long as the orignla one that was sliced at 45mm/s

OK. I seem to have fixed it. I had flashed it to version 8.26 of the firmware which is the newest version avaible on the ceality website. But there is a version 8.28 that exists and for some reason is only on the creality cloud website. Putting that version on, redoing the PID, leveling etc and it now behaves like it should.

The only differnce i can see in the settings for the new firware is that the corner speeds and some of the accelerations are higher than they were before, so maybe they were limiting it some how overall.

It’s weird but I guess that changing the whole bed corrupted the firmware ?

Yeah, though i don’t see how……
