Spongy print from my Ender 3 fitted with Creality Direct feed hotend

Ender 3 with added Creality direct feed hotend ?Sprite? and slicer Cura 5.5.2 and new 0.4 mm nozzel is printing very spongy. This with both pla and petg. Please tell me how I should repair this.

Underextrusion, have you changed your esteps/rotation distance?

I did not.

I have something similar on my Ender 5 plus. A new install would have a rotation distance of 33.something but it needs to be 7.53 ish. I suspect the rotation distance on that Sprite is different to the original extruder so you will have to change the rotation distance or esteps.

This printer with the Sprite head worked fine until I swopped the print bed to a magnetic bed which I did not like so went back to my glass bed. Since returning to glass bed I have had this “sponge” issue. BTW Print on magnetic bed printed correctly, not “sponge”

I don’t know then. Changing bed won’t suddenly make the printer underextrude. Any other settings you may have changed? Flowrate?

Wonder if using the Creality bed leveller, while switching beds might have something to do with it.

Thickness of glass versus steel plate? Yes that would make a difference.

how do I now repair same?
