A new printer. I made 4 projects and seemed to work fine. I tried several new projects and filament would not advance, the black wheel didn’t move but the printer was moving as though it was printing. I checked and did a couple of test extrudes and it worked perfectly so I know it’s getting power and it advances the filament. Why won’t the filament advance on a project, yet work fine when testing it? I’ve done all the other things I can think of…the nozzle is not clogged, the bed is level and I rechecked the connections. Is there a software settings that’s wrong.
Which filament and what are your temperatures set to? Is the extruder wheel tensioned correctly or is the filament being “gnawed” by the extruder?
Thanks for the reply. The filament I’m using is CR- PLA but I don’t think it or the extruder wheel are the issue. I think it’s either software related or something on the circuit board. I’ve continued to play with it further and I can now get it to start printing but the nozzle temperature won’t come up to temperature to start so nothing prints, then after it’s moved up a bit, the nozzle temperature suddenly comes up to temp and the filament starts extruding into air. Is this a possible issue in the slicing settings (Creality Cloud 6) or a sensor issue on the nozzle. This is very frustrating for something so new. I just built a new computer system and it was a breeze compared to this.
I’ve not had much success with Creality Print, give Orca a try to rule out software. If you have extruded then it is probably heating ok so I doubt the heater cartridge or thermistor are broken. Check the heater is properly located.
