For some reason, after my printer does all of its checks and right before it starts the actual print, it sends my extruder to the near left corner and then right back to the center of the plate. It does this incredibly quickly, and sometimes it hits the front left so hard that it throws an error and stops the print.
The strange thing is that this only happens with Creality Print. I tried Orca Slicer for a bit and the issue seemed to clear up, but (just my opinion) Orca is not meant for a Creality printer. It’s been long enough that I’d forgotten this was why I changed in the first place, so I decided to give Creality Print a try again and I’ve witnessed the above happen on both prints I’ve made with it since.
Is this a setting that I’ve accidentally turned on? And how do I keep it from continuing?
UPDATE: Switched to Creality Print 6.0 and the issue’s gone away. Lesson here, just don’t use the older version of Creality Print.
Hello DeadWizardStorage,
Good to see you have it sorted…
Odd that CP 6.0 works ok and not 5.1xxx, I would have expected it to be the other way around.
Orca is my preferred slicer for my Creality printer and you will find many here that do the same.
I don’t think Orca is directed to any specific printer brand … could be wrong ?
P.S. How much do you charge for storing dead wizards ? I have a few that are taking up space I could otherwise use.
Cheers.
I also thought it was strange, but I know that I didn’t add any G-code to my startup, so I’m not sure why it started doing that with 5.1xxx. I only ever messed with basic settings like line width or speed.
As for Orca, I was really irritated with the fan situation (i.e. it not recognizing that there was a back fan) and having to put that on 100% to get it moving without some kind of strange sound was a pain. I also kept losing prints with it, for seemingly no reason that I could tell. The same settings in CP 6.0 have some very pretty prints coming out, so I’ve no idea why Orca was giving me such an issue. I’m newer as well, so maybe it was just something I didn’t understand.
But I charge about $3.50 for storage, per wizard per month. Just sign this contract stating that I also get your soul when you die and I’ll come pick them up.
