I just picked up a K2 with CFS, I do alot of CNC stuff but this is my first 3D printer. So far this thing’s been great, the Creality Print appimage installed and ran on Linux no problem. I general, couldn’t be happier with the thing. I generally take the hard way with this kind of stuff and build my own which is why I haven’t just bought one yet but I had some stuff piling up that it made sense just to buy one. Wasn’t really interested in the Bamboo appliance ecosystem stuff so Creality seemed to be a better setup.
My first print was an enclosure type thing, besides a couple of model corrections I had to make it printed nicely except for 2 things. I printed it face down, it’s mostly a single flat face but there is a recessed face that needed to be supported. Only problem with that is it seems to have not tried to print a proper face, either that or it was just the wrong type of suppoort and the filament was just falling through but that doesn’t really look like what happened. That was with mostly default settings.
I ran it again mostly to correct the model issues, I tweaked a couple of things but it didn’t fix that face. Couldn’t tell ya what I tweaked, a lot of those settings are a bit ambiguous.
The other minor issue I had was with holes printed in the side walls, they collapse a bit. I unchecked “On Build Plate only” which added support towers on the side that went through the holes. I’m sure that’s more or less what it needed but it the holes still collapsed a bit the 2nd time.
Anyone have any tips on the software setup to help a noob out?
